Malaysian Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen said tourism could be made much attractive in India as the country got a smart number of heritage places. Talking to media personnel’s after visiting the widely well-known Mysore palace. Yen told, ”India has a large number of heritage spots and the country can attract more number of tourists by developing them.”

With travel becoming more affordable, many people are now including Asian countries on their list of destinations. Many pensioners are now traveling with money from their Aviva savings and investments account, and even students and recent graduates are finding special deals and programs catered especially to them. Asia has become a top destination for many.

Ongoing terror threats, the minister said it was affecting the growth of tourism and must be dig. He said, ”We oppose terror activities. People extend co-operation to the Government in Malaysia. In that backdrop, terrorists have been tamed there. In a similar manner, if people and the government make joint efforts, it is possible to root out terrorism.”

Yen thought if a tour package was considered by mixing the tourist destinations, then tourism sector was bound to thrive. He added Malaysia had an individual position in global tourism as Malaysia gives special importance on tourism.

It recorded a 12.6% growth in traffic. It was the highest figure since May 2008. Additionally, it was the 2nd consecutive month of two-digit expansion in passenger traffic this year subsequent the 10.3% raise in June.

CEO of Dubai Airports in the United Arab Emirates, Paul Griffiths said ‘The Middle East continues to demonstrate vibrant growth during the global economic downturn and Dubai International (Airport) is at the epicenter of that growth.’ He added ‘The double-digit increases we’ve seen in the past two months are the direct result of a boost in passenger numbers from Emirates and other long-haul network carriers and continual growth in the low cost sector. As for cargo, considering that airports around the world continue to record sharp decline in freight traffic, we have fared well.’

DIA handled total 3,768,965 passengers in last month compared to 3,347,655 in the same period in 2008. The traffic January to July set at 23,148,452 passengers. It was up 6.1% from the corresponding period in 2008. It also handled 160,289 tones cargo in July, compared to 157,253 tones during July 2008. The amount of cargo this year is 1,035,118 tones compared to 1,038,807 tones in 2008.

He proposed it in Sao Paulo during meeting business leaders. Calderon ensured he would discuss to industry, social and political groups in his country to change the trade between the two countries.

Brazil and Mexico both countries are Latin America’s largest economies. The countries are presently responsible for about 70 percent of all economic activities in this region. Mexico already has trade agreements with Canada and USA. The country has struggled with recessionary trends at home as well as abroad. It sends 80 percent of its exports to USA and the country has been mostly exposed to the US fall in customer spending.

Walsh told traffic amounts are starting to get stable and demonstrate several signs of progress for the peak European summer session. The airliner has already cut capital expenses by 20 percent this year. However, British Airways ( BA ) faces likely industrial action on its efforts to shrink costs as well as staffing numbers.

These coupons can provide an interest of up to 16 percent. According to a Chinese news paper reports Goldman Sachs has been hired to advice on this issue. It also reports a potential local listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The steps could indicate Las Vegas Sands skim off its Asian assets.

The fund from theses convertible bonds issue is subject to guarantee the continual development of the group’s Macau spreading out. The company possesses and runs the Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel as well as the Sands Macao in Macau. Moreover, the company is creating the Cotai Strip with feature roughly 21,000 rooms aligned with hotel brands for example St. Regis, Sheraton, Hilton, Conrad, Shangri-La, Traders, Fairmont, Raffles, Inter Continental and Holiday Inn. However, prices appear to be bottoming out, according to an industry analyst. The national standard for self-serve usual unleaded gas was just about $2.486 per gallon on 24 July, down approximately 7.14 cents each gallon since 10 July, says the nationwide Lundberg survey of around 7,000 gas stations. The survey found at $3.03 per gallon, Honolulu, Hawaii got the top average price for self-serve regular unleaded gas, whereas the lowest cost was $2.22 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Average prices tumbled almost 18 cents a gallon in July, though the trend of declining prices could shortly come to an end, told survey editor Trilby Lundberg. Lundberg said “Not only has the rate of decline slowed, but it can be expected to disappear entirely as these prices may have hit a bottom for now.” He said soaring in crude oil prices can signal an upswing in regular retail prices. Crude oil prices made up 89 cents at $68.05 each barrel on Friday increase from $59.89 each barrel just two weeks earlier. However, average cost for self-serve usual unleaded gas are below enough the all time high of about $4.11 registered on 11 July 2008, since high unemployment helped to trim down demand. Additionally, gas on average is nearly $1.51 below that it sold for on 25, July 2008.

Three months ago, a decision was made by Zimbabwean administration to price fuel more competitively. NOCZIM is the core fuel importer for the country.

Recently fuel shortages have got widespread in Zimbabwe as official decide to limit import licenses from new operators. In the meantime the price of gasoline has raised from 55 US cents to US$1.55 because of NOCZIM being not capable to get the hard cash payments required by regional suppliers.

It also plans to cut ties with 470 dealers of Saturn, Hummer and Saab. GM is also negotiating with the unions to reduce wage cost.

Meanwhile on Thursday, the rival of GM, Chrysler said that it would closing 789 US dealers as part of a massive restructuring program.

GM said that

the 1,100 underperforming and very small sales volume US dealers…will be advised that GM does not see them as part of its dealer network on a long-term basis.

Mark LaNeve, the vice president of North American sales for the carmaker explained

It is obvious that almost all parts of GM, including the dealer body, must get smaller and more efficient,

GM now has 6246 dealers in US and they are planning to cut the number to 3605 by the end of next year. The car makers are hopping that the move will reduce cost. However, others argue that dealerships, as permits, are not a cost to the company and produce much needed revenue. Mr. LaNeve said that many of the dealers selling less than 35 vehicle annually.

The company said its gross loss for the third economic quarter totaled 4.14 billion dollar (371 billion yen), evaluated to a 12.5 billion total revenue a year earlier. Shares of Hitachi Ltd fall 17 per cent to their lowest in twenty-nine years after it shocked shareholders with a record 7.8 billion dollar yearly loss warning. Tuesday, in a statement Hitachi said,

The economic outlook also remains unpredictable against a backdrop of concerns about slowing economic growth in China and emerging markets, the yen’s run up and falling share prices.

The company offered a cost-cutting program that also failed to fill confidence for a quick recovery. In January, Hitachi declared job cuts of up to seven thousands as part of its rehabilitation plan. The company said it looks for 200 billion yen in savings by closing unbeneficial businesses and reformation factories.

Gates has overtaken investor Warren Buffett, as the global financial meltdown wiped out $2 trillion from the net worth of the world’s billionaires, Forbes Magazine said on Wednesday.

This year, the number of billionaires in the world fell by nearly a third to 793 in the past year, with large numbers dropping off the list in Russia, India and Turkey.

Bill Gates regained his title as the richest man in the world, with $40 billion after triping to third last year when he was worth $58 billion. Buffett, last year’s richest man, fell to second place with $37 billion, down from $62 billion. Mexican telecommunications tycoon Carlos Slim took third place with $35 billion, down from $60 billion.

Overall, the top three billionaires lost $68 billion in the year to February 13, when Forbes took a snapshot of wealth around the world to bring together its annual list of billionaires.

The Chief Executive of Forbes Magazines Steve Forbes said that, while few would shed a tear for the difficulty of a billionaire, it was bad for the economy when entrepreneurs were in trouble. He told the reporters,

Billionaires don’t have to worry about their next meal, but if their wealth is declining and you’re not creating numerous new billionaires, it means the rest of the world is not doing very well.

and added that

“The typical billionaire is down at least one third on their net worth.”

UBS bank in Switzerland recently has refused to provide the names of any more US clients to the American government. It is a diversified worldwide financial services company. The bank is the world’s largest manager of private wealth assets. Its main headquarter situated in Basel and Zurich. The authority say as UBS has accepted responsibility for helping thousands of US citizens hide assets; so, the secret accounts with the bank will be maintained. The bank has a major presence in the USA, with its US headquarters located in New York City.

UBS officials told the US administration that the bank has done every thing it can for now, without breaking Swiss criminal laws. They say they have taken corrective measures to comply with world authorities. Already the Internal Revenue Service in the USA has been handed the names of around 300 UBS clients, but the IRS still wants the identities of as many as 52,000 wealthy US citizens.

The average APR (annual percentage rate) rose 11.52%, from 11.43% last week for the low-interest cards. The cards have rates lower than the national average but are over and over again offered merely to users with strong credit histories. On the other hand, for balance transfer cards, the average APR edged up to 13.05%, from 12.93% the week before. The cards allow customers to consolidate outstanding debt from one or more cards though sometimes they include a low introductory rate.

The average APR for cash back cards was slightly higher, at 13.67%, from 13.64% just one week ago. It is feature cash or other reward incentives. It usually requires a good-to-excellent credit rating for approval. The average APR charged for every variable-rate cards tracked by Bank-rate held steady for the third consecutive week at 10.74%. Bank-rate surveys the ten largest banks and thrifts in the ten different largest markets in America to determine its averages.

The price of gold broke above US$1,000 an ounce on Friday for the first time as stocks continued to fall and other securities seen as more risky. Gold futures for April delivery rose as much as $23.80, or 2.4 per cent, to $1,000.30 an ounce. The elevated price of gold is a sign of how terrible the overall state of the financial system is. Investors are upset by the failing banking industry and rising unemployment as it becomes increasingly unclear where the bottom is for other investments.

Analysts anticipate the gold rally will continue as investors drop confidence in their economic assets. Carlos Sanchez, precious metals analyst at CPM Group said in New York that,

With the Dow down to a six-year low and concerns about financial and economic stability worldwide, $1,000 seems to be the new resistance level.

After receiving $17.4 billion loans from Bush administration the two giant automakers General Motors and Chrysler are now seeking more government loan to stay alive. But it will be a problem for the two titan of the automaker to get the loan from the new government.

The new request of GM and Chrysler say’s that they will need another $21.6 to keep alive in the auto market. But specking of the loan, for President Barack Obama’s month-old administration, there are no easy answers. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said “There can’t be a bottomless pit to this. There aren’t the resources to deal with it,” he also added that “We have to get a sustained path to that restructuring to ensure that there isn’t a constant necessity for continued government intervention and money from the taxpayers,”

At risk is much more than the future of the PT Cruiser or the Saturn Vue. Jobs at assembly plants, car dealers, parts suppliers and the small businesses that serve them could be at risk in an exhausted economy in which nearly 12 million people are unemployed, including about 600,000 who got pink slips last month.

Even though Obama meets GM and Chrysler’s requests for an additional $14 billion in loans and the companies carry out the turnaround plans they released Tuesday, it would come with a painful price: An estimated 50,000 workers worldwide would lose their jobs and five more U.S. plants will be closed.

GM and Chrysler, which initially received $13.4 billion and $4 billion, respectively, are now asking the government for a total of $39 billion more, saying they need more loans due to a U.S. auto market where sales have fallen to lowest point not seen in more than a quarter century. GM said it will run out of money within March if the company does not receive any additional support.

In a recent time, there is big fall of profit in the automobile industry. The giant car manufacturer companies such as GM, Toyota, Ford are facing so much constrain for their business. All of the famous and big car manufacturers cut their production more or less. Moreover, in this year there is a big crisis all over the world business.

But you will be astonished to know that South Korea’s top automaker Hyundai makes surprising profit in China. Hyundai Motors has had record monthly sales in China. China has the world’s second major car market, which also suffered sluggish sales growth last year in the midst of slower economic factors.

The sales figures for the Chinese unit have increased 35 percent year-on-year to 42,790 autos in January. The record monthly sales were credited to a tax cut by the Chinese government for the consumers of small automobiles. Now Hyundai is hopeful for their new sales, raised its sales target to 185,000 cars for 2009.

Apple Inc. co-founder and Chief Executive Steve Jobs said that he is going to take a medical leave until the end of June. However, these is announced just a week after the cancer survivor tried to assure investors and employees his recent weight loss was caused by an easily treatable hormone deficiency. On the other hand Apple stock drops as they announced Jobs is taking medical leave.

Steve Jobs, the 53 years old Apple’s CEO said in his latter last week that he would remain at Apple’s helm despite the hormone problem, and that he had already begun a “relatively simple and straightforward” treatment. But in an e-mail to employees Wednesday he wrote “During the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought,”

When the roomers and news about the CEO’s health and his gaunt appearance was all-round, Apple’s shares have started to pitched and crashed over the last year. As the top executive’s health is an issue for investors in any company, at Apple the level of concern reaches fever arena because Jobs has a hand in everything from ideas for new products to the way they’re marketed. And the investors fear that, Apple will not be able to sustain its growth of the last decade, which has seen Apple branch out from its Mac computers into the iPod and the iPhone without Jobs.

Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday that it would suspend production at all of its domestic plants for 11 days between February and March in reply to a fall in sales.

A Toyota spokesman said, “We will suspend the operation of 12 Toyota factories in Japan for 11 more days.”

A stoppage of unprecedented scale for the nation’s top automaker as it struggle already idling its domestic plants for three days in January to manage with rapidly decrease global demand. Last time in August 1993, Toyota Motor Corp. halted production at all its Japan plants, when demand fall because of increasing yen, and that was for only one day.

But the stoppage time of this moment is really alarming for them. A worldwide financial slump has hammered the auto industry in Japan and elsewhere, forcing carmakers to cut employees, lower production and holdup new models. Toyota spokesman Hideaki Homma said Tuesday.

We are coping with a slump in global sales. Demand in the world auto market is so depressed that every model is falling harshly in sales.

The most recent output cuts came after the Japanese auto giant last month forecast its first ever annual operating loss, blaming an unexpected crisis in the global auto industry. Sales of latest vehicles in Japan fell to 3.2 million vehicles last year, the lowest in 34 years, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said Monday. Toyota has already moved to reduce production at its domestic, Canadian, French, and U.S. factories, and plans to lay off 3,000 provisional workers in Japan.

The crises of world economy now touch the British furniture chain MFI. The administrators of it announced last Friday they had failed to get a buyer for the firm and for this reason its stores had been closed with the loss of more than 1,400 jobs. Last month, MCR took on accountability for the struggling retailer but after it filed for a form of bankruptcy, now it announced the company had stopped their trading. Richard Merrin, MCR spokesman, told The Associated Press “The one big asset, that they had was the order book and they’ve not been able to find a buyer for that either so that means that all stores are closed.” He added every customer who had placed orders with this company just before it collapsed would be refunded.

Since after foundation in 1964, MFI was one of the Britain’s top furniture retailers, especially in selling home-assembled and flat-packed furniture to aspiring homeowners. But in recent few years the firm struggled as it faced increased competition from several stores for example B&Q, Homebase and. There are some problems and delays with its supply chain and many errors to orders bit into the brand as well. Finally, the wave of world economic crises has bound to the company to cease its operation. Earlier, on November 26, the authority said it was struggling with “severe cash flow pressure” because of the general deterioration in the market for home furnishings. The experts say the declaration of ceasing the operation of the company will make an impact on the economy.

According to The Fort Worth Star-Telegram report the International Air Transport Association states it expects around $300 million profit for North American carriers, which is just below 1% of their revenue. At present US Airlines is hoping to get authorization for its alliance with British Airways, in order to coordinate scheduling along with marketing for trans-Atlantic flights.

Amid the world wide economic turndown Japanese auto makers have virtually stopped producing all types of cars with vehicle production falling around 20% previous month.

The fading demand for automobile, not only in Japan but also in international market, has caused Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan’s largest automaker, to announce its first net operating loss in their 71 years business history. The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association already has said it is the largest decline in over 40 years history, when records were taken first time.

On the other hand, Hyundai Motors and Kia, top two carmakers of South Korea, have slashed sales forecasts, as well, by 12% due to the worldwide recession. The Indian automobile industry is responding to drop in auto sales by cutting shifts at its auto factories. So, it is very much apparent that all international car companies are survived with the recent world economic crisis and bound to cut their production.
