The National Oil Company of Zimbabwe (NOCZIM) has once again turn into a monopoly. Three months ago, a decision was made by Zimbabwean administration to price fuel more competitively. NOCZIM is the core fuel importer for the country.

Recently fuel shortages have got widespread in Zimbabwe as official decide to limit import licenses from new operators. In the meantime the price of gasoline has raised from 55 US cents to US$1.55 because of NOCZIM being not capable to get the hard cash payments required by regional suppliers.
